Corporation for National Research Initiatives (CNRI) has developed a new version of its Repository Software. The new version is named Digital Object (DO) Repository and it is available now for a specific use case, which is the management of metadata information in the DO Registry. Future versions, available later this year, will be able to serve as general purpose repositories.
In general, the DO Repository provides a mechanism for management of digital object stores. It has a uniform interface to facilitate digital object interactions from clients and amongst multiple repositories, thus enabling the interoperability of repositories over the Internet.
The software is freely available for download, subject to acceptance of the License Agreement.
See Documentation for installation instructions.
See the CNRI web site, Digital Object Store, for older versions of CNRI Repository Software.
